Venue: 13 Blind Lane. 7.30pm

Present: Barbara Johnson (Host), Joan Jones, Tim Edwards, Janice Heatherwick. Jan Player. Phil Harcourt.

Apologies: John Eaton, (Chair), Alison Jackson.

1. Doorstep Consultation exercise. During the week before the Consultation meetings, Steering Group members chose areas they wished to revisit as part of the Doorstep Consultation Exercise. All homes were visited and the majority of villagers were happy to engage. Topics included, traffic, HGVs and aggregate Vehicles, the need for a by-pass, no large Greenfield developments, wishing to stay a village separate from Trowbridge and many others. All were given NDP details, further questionnaires if necessary and other relevant topical information. Only a few residents were uninterested and declined to speak to us. Leaflets etc. were left where residents were out. Posters were left at bus stops, on notice boards, in the Pub and Village shop etc. and Neighbourhood Plan documents and questionnaires at sites around the village. Ben Sansom agreed to add details to the Southwick Residents Association Website Face book page.

2. Community Consultation Meetings Members decided who should attend each of the meetings on 15th, 16th and 17th June at the Baptist Chapel.  Packs were to be made up for villagers to view on each table consisting of  NDP documents, Site Survey maps, SHLAA maps, Wiltshire Council NDP Activity Maps E.A. Flood maps,  information regarding the proposed Western Wiltshire By-pass, Trowbridge’s NDP and other points of interest.

Several members of the group agreed to attend two or more of the meetings.

3. David King’s email of 13th June.  Phil felt we should discuss David’s email, particularly future visits we were asked to consider.  It was decided that John would prefer to decide our approach to these upon his return from holiday.
